flippin' yummy

We had lovely pancakes last night, with the traditional squeeze of lemon and sprinkling of sugar.

We got 8 pancakes out of such a small amount of ingredients (1 egg, 4Oz plain flour, 1/2 pint milk), why anyone would buy ready made pancakes I don't know. All the fun is in the flipping!

Is Pancake Day at risk of dying out?
Why do we eat pancakes today?

Didn't we use to call the "Shrove Tuesday" not sure of the spelling....I can remember it would be the night before Ash Wednesday....Easter was always full of catholic rituals....Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and then finally Easter Sunday...as a kid...I actually dreaded Easter....all the church going....but I did like the pancakes...yummy...yes and who in their right mind would buy package mix when home made is just as easy and far better tasting....

I have a brother and his wife and child living in Wales for a year ...my sister in law is a teacher and she is there on a teacher's exchange...if you ever get a chance to visit his blog http://johngojevic.blogspot.com you should...he presents a very interesting perspective of the United Kingdom from a foreigners point of view....just wonder if you might share some of his views or thoughts....cheers....and thanks for visiting my blog
