2000 - 2004
Many moons ago, around 1998, I fell in love - with the internet.
I was studying law at university, but spent a lot of that time teaching myself Photoshop and HTML and in 2000 I made my first foray into web-publishing with East Asia Travel: my journal of a 6-week backpacking adventure through China.

When I left university in June that year, I had dreams of being my own boss, and web-design seemed like a viable business. So I began freelancing along with my then boyfriend.
We made enough money to get by for a couple of years, but we were green, and the new media market was becoming more competitive. When we lost our biggest client it was time to get a "proper job".
In 2002 I updated East Asia Travel to add my journal of travels in Japan and renamed it Silk and Sushi.

Unfortunately, due to numerous house-moves and intermittent internet access I lost the hosting and domain name for this site. However, I still have my local copy and have re-bought the silkandsushi.com domain name, so a relaunch could be on the cards.
In 2004 I discovered Blogger and launched my first blog called Read About It Here.

In 2005 I re-launched the blog under a new name: LivingDoing.

In 2007 it was given a well-needed re-design and became the blog you see today.
